November Marketing Ideas for Restaurants

With all of the random food holidays, seasonal events, and more, planning a timely restaurant content calendar can be easier and more daunting than ever. At Venga, we’re always about making your life easier so we’ve pulled together a list of ideas for your November marketing campaigns.

All Month Long

Leaves are changing, the weather is cooler, days are shorter, and, with November here, fall is in full swing. The first frosts have yielded cozy comfort foods, hearty meals, and vibrant flavors, and everyone is looking for their fix as they gather around bonfires and feasts with friends and family. Everyone has roasted turkeys and spiced pies on their mind, so now is the time to start taking advantage of your Thanksgiving promotions. The Christmas season is coming, so don’t miss out on your last opportunities for fall fun!

Halloween, the preeminent pumpkin holiday, is over, and interest in pumpkin beers, Oktoberfests, and other fall seasonals have sharply dropped. November has brought colder weather and darker beers (think Scottish ales, amber lagers, and brandywines.) With this pumpkin to holiday beer gap also comes renewed interest and opportunities in the form of specialty releases and stouts. Be sure to also capitalize on one of the biggest bar days of the year, Thanksgiving Eve, by hosting game watches and targeting alumni groups to take advantage of large hometown reunions.

Seasonal Ingredients

Everyone is still flocking to farmer’s markets to make the most of seasonal harvests before winter comes into full effect. Apples and pumpkins are sticking around for a few more weeks, while roasted chestnuts and seared scallops have just come to the force. Promote these ingredients by combining flavors to take advantage of these trending opportunities:

Brussels sprouts
Jerusalem artichoke
Sea bass
Sweet potatoes
Winter Squash

Actual and Food Holidays

A few highlights from November’s food holidays: Autumn is harvest season, and with various fruits and veggies at their peak color and flavor, holidays like Eat a Cranberry Day have great potential – especially since it falls three days before Thanksgiving. Even though Halloween has passed, we’re not ready to give up our sweet tooths just yet, since there’s still National Sundae, Cake, and Bavarian Cream Pie Days to celebrate. Also what would fall be without a day to showcase cappuccinos and espressos? Check out what the rest of the month can offer your marketing promotions:
